Our favourite places in winter in and around the Feuerstein

To ensure you get the most out of our snowy alpine paradise, we would like to share our favourite winter spots and highlights in and around the Feuerstein.

Geared up with warm snowsuits and sledges, you will traverse pristine forests and wide snow-covered landscapes on your way to the mountain hut called Allriss Alm. Look forward to a delicious selection of flavoursome dishes, enticing desserts and invigorating hot beverages. Once you have restored your energies, it’s time to “get ready, get set, go” with everyone whizzing back to the valley on the slide.

Sometimes the best is right on your doorstep – and we are not just talking about the mountains. One step out of the hotel is one step into our own little snow paradise: the hotel garden. Wrapped up in a hat, scarf and gloves, this is where you can enjoy various winter wonderland activities, such as forming and throwing snowballs with lots of enthusiasm or building a snowman with a carrot for a nose and pebbles for the eyes. Fun continues on the toboggan run, on the ski slope with its magic carpet and on the ice rink, where you can perform the most beautiful pirouettes or compete in exciting ice hockey matches.

Embark on a journey into the heart of nature, surrounded by the silence of winter and snow-covered mountains and landscapes. Every step you take allows you to wind down and forget about the world for a moment. Slowly moving higher and higher, you leave the forest behind you and ascend towards the ice-capped peaks. All you hear is the sound of crunching snow beneath your skis or snowshoes, the rest is utter peace and silence. First the sun conjures up bright shadows which then transform into sharp silhouettes emerging on the glistening white slope. A truly unique experience.

Experience an unforgettable excursion for the entire family surrounded by glistening white snow, stately trees and a breathtaking nature. The ascent runs gently over the entire route, which makes the hike easy and feasible for everyone. Enjoy the clear air of the mountains and the spectacular views over snow-covered landscapes. The way back follows the same route. Our tip: bring a sledge with you.

A very special tobogganing experience awaits you at the mountain called Rosskopf/Monte Cavallo: look forward to night sledding on Italy’s longest tobogganing run! Both young and grown-ups alike can enjoy pure tobogganing fun along a perfectly groomed and well-lit ten-kilometre-long run. The starting point is at the Rosskopf mountain station, which is located at an altitude of 1,860 metres. Starting from here, the descent of 900 metres in altitude leads you through an impressive forest landscape, back to the valley station in Sterzing/Vipiteno. Hop on the cable car, reach the top and have a great tobogganing ride!

After all the exciting and relaxing activities you've undertaken in the winter wonderland around the Feuerstein, now it's time to warm up. Our fireplace lounge offers the perfect atmosphere in which to gather with the entire family and reminisce about the memories you have created throughout the day. Embraced by the delicious scent of coffee, fragrant tea or hot chocolate, you will experience moments that will last for a lifetime.
